MuralsFeatured MuralFive Historic Louisiana Homes
This mural is located on the front of 705 Georgia Street. Louisiana High School Advanced Art Class painted this mural in the spring of 2003. The mural measures 8 feet x 8 feet. There are many historic homes in Louisiana, and these five homes were selected by the students for the mural. At the top of the mural is a representation of the Louisiana sign located at the Mississippi Riverfront Park. In the background of the right center of the mural is the stern-wheeler car ferry, the Rover, which ferried passengers and vehicles across the Mississippi River until the Champ Clark Bridge was constructed in 1936. The Louisiana High School Advanced Art class consisted of the following artists: Kelli Ann Martin, Megan Penrod, Jamie Lesley, Heather Willis, Thomas Burse, Sam Love, Paul Polach, Lydia Hoaglin, Kyle Diffey, Stephanie Dobelmann, Kristin Starkey and Alex Rothwell. The class instructor was Holly Dehner. |
